Handler Training: November 2024

UF VETS is offering K9 First Aid for active K9 handlers. This training will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 and is limited to 30 participants. Participants must be active law enforcement K9s in order to participate. Cost for the training is $175/person and will take place at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine (2015 SW 16th Avenue Gainesville, FL 32608). The course will run from 8 AM to 5 PM and will include live animal handling.

Topics will include: performing a basic physical exam, signs/symptoms of illness, common injuries, field treatment/first aid, and will include hands-on training for basic first aid skills.

Registration is only available for current law enforcement K9 handlers. Once the form has been submitted, please allow 24 business hours for confirmation of your registration and payment information. A registration fee of $175/person must be paid a minimum of 30 days prior to the training to hold your seat. Please contact brandikphillips@ufl.edu with any questions.
